1Who is this training for?
The training is for early years practitioners working with groups of 3-4 year olds in early years settings.
2How much will this training cost?
Places on these sessions are available at the following rates: • Free of Charge: Blackpool Health Visitors, Blackpool Community Health Practitioners, Blackpool Early Years Practitioners • Subsidised at a rate of £15.00 per ticket inc. VAT: Other professionals working with children and young people in Blackpool • Chargeable at a rate of £50.00 per ticket inc. VAT: All others interested in attending this course If you are unsure as to what rate you may be asked to pay, please contact accounts@communicate-slt.org.uk or add your question to your Expression of Interest form and we'll confirm this for you.
3How is this training delivered?
This in person training package consists of 2 x 2 hour sessions delivered virtually over Zoom. We aim to have the same trainer deliver both sessions. You will receive a welcome email from your trainer with joining instructions closer to the first date of training. In order to complete the training to certification, it is expected that each individual participant attends both dates in the training package.
4What are the learning outcomes?
The Supporting Communication and Language module focuses on increasing participants knowledge of typical communication and language development, developing practitioners’ strategies and interaction styles to maximise their opportunities to develop every child’s skills in communication and language.
5What qualifications do your trainers have?
All trainers are licensed professionals.
6What resources will I need/be provided with?
Please ensure you have access to your Early Talk Boost Intervention Pack which includes everything you need to run the intervention. These resources can be accessed here https://speechandlanguage.org.uk/shop-for-educators/early-talk-boost-intervention-pack-pre-order/ and should be accessible to you for both online training sessions. If more than one practitioner is attending from any one setting, manuals can be shared between up to 3 attendees however as this training is being delivered online, you will all need to join from the same location. At the end of the training, we will ask you to complete two evaluation forms in order to receive your training certificate.
7What are your payment terms?
Please note that all training will be invoiced for as soon as we know there are sufficient participants to run the course. Payment is due within 14 days of receipt of the invoice. All training sessions are non-refundable but are transferable to a new date if we are notified within the time period detailed below.
8What is your cancellation and refund policy?
7 days' notice must be given in writing to events@communicate-slt.org.uk if the booker wishes to change the date of your training session/request reallocation of the cost to an alternative date. Any sessions cancelled by the booker later than 7 days before the first session is due to be carried out, will not be eligible for transfer or refund. Communicate SLT reserve the right to cancel any training session and in such an event will reimburse in full any course fees paid.
